The foundation of Peace Community Development is deeply connected to a family legacy of service.
For more than three decades, Dr. D. A. Peace, Sr. dedicated himself to philanthropic and community work within Portsmouth’s Prentis Park and Brighton communities. His commitment demonstrated what can happen when someone not only recognizes the needs of a community but chooses to become personally invested in helping meet them.
Today, that legacy has come full circle through his daughter, Dr. Devese Peace-Branch, President of Peace Community Development, Inc.
Through PCD, Inc., Dr. Peace-Branch is carrying forward a legacy of compassion, service, and community investment while expanding its vision for a new generation. What began decades ago as a commitment to serving Portsmouth neighborhoods continues through an organization dedicated to helping Portsmouth and surrounding communities see, support, and serve those in need.
